INTEGRATION ARCHITECTURE
Foundation Kinetics does not manufacture motors, alloys, polymers, or compute substrates. It integrates them. The division's value is in systems architecture — in knowing which actuator belongs at which joint, which sensor modality serves which task, and how to make heterogeneous components from five different supplier divisions behave as a unified machine.
→ METALLIC SCIENCES — Supplies the skeleton. Ti-6Al-4V primary frame, carbon-fiber-reinforced polymer secondary structures, tungsten carbide wear surfaces, carbon fiber and CNT filament for FK-5 Arachne fiber placement. Special-form structural components and high-curvature geometries supplied through electromagnetic and plasma-assisted forming via Plasma Press.
→ HIGHFIELD MAGNETICS — Supplies the muscle and the energy. Every motor (quasi-direct-drive brushless, series elastic, linear), every battery pack (solid-state cells, supercapacitor burst modules), every motor controller and DC-DC converter, magnetic bearing stages for precision joints, superconducting track infrastructure for Foundation Floor mag-rail transport, regenerative braking systems, and wireless power transfer pads for FK-8 Legion swarm charging.[20]
→ AETHERIC SCIENCES — Supplies the brain. Edge compute for limb-local servo loops, central trunk processors for planning and perception, transformer-based world models, reinforcement-learning locomotion policies, distributed coordination architectures for FK-6 Serpent segments and FK-8 Legion swarms, and precision handling protocols for quantum and optical components.

Foundation Kinetics is not a customer-facing division. Its primary customers are the other divisions of Foundation Kinetics. Every division that builds physical hardware requires physical labor to build it, and that labor is progressively being replaced by Foundation Kinetics systems.

FK-4 Scarab swarms inspect plasma-facing components and superconducting coil surfaces between operational cycles. FK-1 Colossus handles general assembly labor in unstructured reactor hall environments.
